American Black Cherry flooring, a beautiful and versatile hardwood, is an exceptional choice for almost any room. Cherry has long been one of the most popular domestic hardwoods for furniture making; this hardwood has been used extensively since early days.

The unique colors and characteristics of American Black Cherry make it an excellent choice for wide plank wood flooring. Beginning as a pale pinkish-tan color, Cherry quickly turns a warm reddish brown with the sapwood remaining creamy beige for contrast. At CountryPlank.com, we carefully choose the face of each Cherry plank floor board with the most "red" so the overall color of each plank minimizes the huge color variation between heartwood and sapwood. Then the Cherry plank flooring is steamed prior to kiln drying to provide a more consistent finished product. With an oil based finish, Cherry develops a wonderful deep warm color that makes it the most inviting of all wide plank flooring.

Cherry Hardwood Flooring:
Select & Better Grade (NOFMA):
Available in solid planks or engineered planks by special order, unfinished, or factory pre-finished with a micro bevel on the solid planks or square edge on the engineered planks. This plain sawn grade of Cherry flooring is virtually free of knots, with some gum pockets and the characteristic warmth of Cherry and a more uniform deeper color, to enhance a formal design style.

Cherry Hardwood Flooring:
Select & Better Rift & Quarter Sawn (NOFMA):
Available in solid planks or engineered planks by special order, unfinished, or factory pre-finished with a micro bevel on the solid planks or square edge on the engineered planks. This grade of Cherry plank flooring is virtually free of knots, with some gum pockets, a uniform color and is hand selected for straight grain. With the characteristic warmth of Cherry and the most even color and grain, this option is suitable for the most formal applications.

Cherry Hardwood Flooring:
Country Grade (NOFMA #1 Common):
Available in solid planks or engineered planks by special order; unfinished, or factory pre-finished with a micro bevel on the solid planks or square edged on the engineered planks. This plain sawn grade has most of the naturally occurring wood character remaining such as knots, gum pockets, distinct color variations and varying grain patterns that add to its popular appeal. This option of Cherry wide plank flooring is adaptable to a variety of design styles where the warmth of Cherry is desired.

Cherry Hardwood Flooring:
Rustic Grade (NOFMA #2 & 3 Common & Better):
Available in solid unfinished planks only, plain sawn, with more of the naturally occurring wood characteristics remaining such as larger and more frequent knots, gum pockets, distinct color variations and varying grain patterns than Country Grade. This grade of Cherry flooring is suited to a more relaxed setting and is also available with any of our custom surface treatments applied.
